Our internal medicine service addresses a wide range of health issues related to the gastrointestinal tract, liver, kidneys, pancreas, bladder, respiratory tract, and other organ systems, as well as autoimmune, endocrine or metabolic disorders and infectious diseases. Internal medicine patients often have more than one health problem to address, so our focus is on providing comprehensive treatment for the maximum benefit of pets and their owners. The process begins with a thorough review of patient medical history, followed by diagnostic testing and lab work to determine organ functionality. With this information, we consult with clients to determine a treatment strategy that is based on the pet’s lifestyle, quality of life, and the owner’s objectives for his or her pet. Because disease can progress, ongoing monitoring and follow up testing is required for internal medicine cases. We work closely with our patients and clients to ensure the healthiest outcome possible.
